Earlier this year Colorado became one of five states to receive a $1 million States Leading Recovery grant from the national nonprofit Accelerate to implement “high-dosage tutoring” during the school day to help speed learning recovery. This is part of our overall implementation of high-impact tutoring legislation from 2021, HB21-1234, which aims to address unfinished learning from the pandemic.

Recently, CDE visited Lake Middle School in Denver, which is implementing high-impact tutoring during the school day. Teachers say students who are taking the tutoring have seen dramatic growth in their math skills.
