Similarity

Common in shape. These triangles are similar because the triangle to the left has dimensions that are 3 times larger than the triangle to the left. Commonly notated as AAA

Two similar triangles with dimensions that are three times larger than the triangle to the left.

Congruence

Equal in shape and measurement. These triangles are congruent because they have the same measurements. Commonly notated in 3 main ways as SSS, ASA, SAS.

Two congruent triangles.

Right Angle Triangle

A triangle that has one angle at 90 degrees

Pythagorean Theorem

The theorem that indicates that a triangle with a 90° angle in it will have sides that measure in a particular equation. The equation is a2+b2=c2. In this equation, c is the length of the side opposite the right angle. The sum of that side, also called the hypotenuse, is equivalent to the sum of the squares of the other two sides, a and b are the lengths of those sides.
